[REDACTED] was contacted at his residence, [REDACTED], about 1:30 a.m. He was shown photographs of eleven white male individuals. He picked one photograph of a white male and provided the following information:
The photograph which he picked was a white male dressed in a tie and sweater, wearing sunglasses with wire rims. The individual is standing in front of a vehicle and is in a street scene. The individual's hands are out of sight in the photograph and appear to be in front of him.
[REDACTED] said that this is the same photograph which was shown to him at 2 a.m. on April 22, 1972, by [REDACTED] [REDACTED] "Newsweek" magazine. He said that the individual in the photograph appears to be very much like the hijacker of the Northwest Airlines plane in November, 1971.
[REDACTED] explained that the points of identifica- tion he used were the man's mouth, which is identical to the hijacker, and the man's chin and neck which are very much like the hijacker's. He remembers the hijacker's nose and ears to be average and the individual's nose and ears in the photograph are average.
When he was interviewed by [REDACTED] "Newsweek" magazine, [REDACTED] popped out of his briefcase an 8" x 10" photo- graph of the same picture. When he had made the appointment to see [REDACTED] did not mention that he would be show- ing a photograph. When he popped out the photograph, [REDACTED] stated [REDACTED] said that he has been shown at least 500 different photographs and because of the time lapse he could not be sure if this was the hi- jacker. He told [REDACTED] that the mouth of the man in the photo- graph appeared similar to the hijacker's mouth. He did not give [REDACTED] a positive, affirmative answer as he has given to Agents of the FBI as to his identification of the photograph being the hijacker.
[REDACTED] stated that [REDACTED] looks very much like the hijacker.

About 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 1972, [REDACTED] again telephoned [REDACTED] and stated that he was back in the Seattle area in order to contact additional witnesses of the hijacking incident and said that [REDACTED] needed an additional question answered. He asked [REDACTED] if he boarded the plane at Portland and how he paid for his ticket, whether [REDACTED] paid for his ticket by cash or credit card. [REDACTED] told [REDACTED] but could not recall how he bought his ticket.
