Re memo from SA GEORGE H.NG to SAC, Portland, dated 3/12/74.

The following investigation was conducted by SA [REDACTED]: AT [REDACTED], OREGON

On 3/14/74, two attempts were made to contact [REDACTED] in [REDACTED]. These attempts were negative.

On the evening of 3/14/74, [REDACTED] was contacted telephonically.

An attempt was made to set up an appointment on the evening of 3/14/74, or in the day time on 3/15/74. [REDACTED] said that this would not be possible in view of the fact that during the daytime of 3/15/74, she would not be home in that she was going to [REDACTED] [REDACTED]; however, she stated that [REDACTED] would be at the residence and would be available for interview and further stated that [REDACTED] was aware of everything.

On 3/15/74, [REDACTED], birth date [REDACTED], at [REDACTED], Oregon, furnished the following information that he thought was pertinent to the D.B. COOPER case.

He advised that about [REDACTED] ago he was in the Y Cafe having coffee and he overheard an individual by the name of [REDACTED] talking about various hijackings.

[REDACTED] stated that [REDACTED] did discuss the D.B. COOPER hijacking, and that [REDACTED] was apparently well informed on the type of aircraft that COOPER hijacked.

[REDACTED] advised that [REDACTED] stated that it would be impossible to parachute out of an airliner in the dark due to the lack of light which would destroy any depth perception that the jumper might have.

[REDACTED] thought that this information concerning the airplane and the fact that a man could not jump from the airplane should be brought to the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
