Dear [REDACTED]:

---

In response to your recent letter, please be advised that the Federal Statute of Limitations of five years has been tolled, (stopped from running), because of a Grand Jury indictment which was returned on November 24, 1976. This means that the hijacker may be prosecuted anytime he is located regardless of the passage of time.

The relative interests of the victim airline and the insurance company are civil matters not within the investigative jurisdiction of this Bureau.

I am sorry to have to inform you that the provisions of the Privacy Act forbid the furnishing of the information you requested concerning a certain individual.

Your interest and concern in this matter are appreciated.

---

Very truly yours,

[signature] ARTHUR G. BARGER Special Agent in Charge
