Reno Nevada 12/22/79. Dear Mr Ralph Himmelbach.
The enclosed newspaper column - bring to my mind of a happening in Reno Nevada. a week before the D. B. Cooper Hi- jacking.
I was a passenger on the local Reno Bus leaving the Holiday Hotel on Center St. heading for Park Lane Shopping Center a man ran to the bus as it was leaving & banged on the door, the bus stopped - the man boarded, and said in a loud voice "Take me to the Airport." The bus driver informed him, the bus did not go to the airport. The driver informed the man he could let him off a a certain block during the trip, & he could walk a few blocks and arrive at the airport.

The man who boarded the bus was a solid stocky man of good height, wore a brown dress suit, horn rimmed glasses he sat on the edge of his seat, sort of anxious when the bus came to the block, the driver called to the man, that we were at the block he mentioned. The man said to the driver, "I just wanted to look the area over, and see how close it [guess: come] to the airport. I'm not getting off."
The next time [guess: seen] the same man, it was a week after the hi-jacking. This man turned the corner of West Second St onto North Virginia St - he was hurrying - then he started to sprint. He crossed the street toward "Harolds Club" running fast There was a north bound freight train coming through - he turned [guess: on] Commerce Row and hopped on the freight. This man fit the description of D.B. Cooper.
Maybe this maybe of some help - Respectfully
