On 3/22/1980, [REDACTED], telephones [REDACTED] (home) and [REDACTED] (work) advised that while he was vacationing in Hawaii [REDACTED] and during a boat cruise, in the Lahaina, Maui area, he saw an individual fitting the exact description of D.B. COOPER.
[REDACTED] advised that both he and [REDACTED] could not disprove that this individual is not D.B. COOPER. He described this individual as 5'10", [REDACTED] years old, receding hairline, very smooth complexion. This individual was on the "Coral Sea" cruise ship on [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] a.m. He was by himself wearing light blue pants and T-shirt, and has a camera.
[REDACTED] advised that he took some pictures of this individual and observed license plate [REDACTED] (Hawaii). [REDACTED] stated that there was some indications that this vehicle might be a rental car.
[REDACTED] stated that he would be willing to assist the FBI on further details of his encounter and he would like to show the pictures he took of this individual to the FBI.
