What does the scan show?
A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

Dear FBI:
I've been receiving phone calls from someone [REDACTED] "D.B. Cooper," the 1971 air hijacker. Chances are it's a hoax, but as a journalist I can't drop it without looking into it.
Is this 11-year-old case still open with you? If so, I'll be happy to tell you what I've got if you want to hear it. Maybe you can help me decide whether to write up my notes or throw them in the wastebasket.
Regards, [signature] Max Gunther
