What does the scan show?
A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

RE: Suspect JOE HENRY JOHNSTON
---
On November 26, 1971, SA [REDACTED] at the Bureau advised me that the suspect had served time in the Oregon State Penitentiary in Salem, Oregon in 1964 and that the Police Department and Sheriff's Office in Portland had photographs of him. He advised the Bureau had not communicated with Portland concerning this matter. I told him I would.
I made a call to ASAC VINCENT E. RUEHL in Portland and suggested that he have JOHNSTON's photograph displayed to loading agent at Northwest immediately. In addition, obtain photograph of him from the available sources and run a background check on [REDACTED] who currently resides in Portland but that I would not contact her at this moment.
