SUBJECT: UNSUB; Northwest Airlines Flight 305 11/24/71 CAA - HIJACKING; EXTORTION

---

On November 25, 1971, SA HELD of the Minneapolis Office, called and advised that the Northwest Airlines, after angulating the plane's position and reviewing the log, concluded that the last known point when the subject was in the plane was over Merwin, Oregon (actually in Washington), the center of a triangle, the base of which was Amboy, Oregon, one leg of which was at Cougar, Washing- ton, the other leg at Pigeon Springs, Washington. An examination of the map, however, revealed all points are in Washington.
