Enclosed for Bureau is one zerox copy of pages 9-141 of manuscript obtained 4/26/72 from Newsweek Magazine which is transcript of details obtained in interviews of alleged hijacker D.B. COOPER by Newsweek Contributing Editor KARL PAYNE FLEMING. Also enclosed for Bureau are 20 copies of photograph of man allegedly identifying himself as D.B. COOPER. This photograph is of balding white male without a wig. Date and place of this photograph not known.
Enclosed for Los Angeles and Seattle offices are 20 copies each of photograph of unknown individual referred to above.
In view of fact that enclosed photograph shows the alleged hijacker wearing identical clothing as man wearing wig on street in Bremerton, Washington (exact location of photograph not known to NYO) there is a possibility photograph without wig and photograph with wig taken on same day. It should be noted that FLEMING obtained photographs from [ ] who may possibly have been one of two males who accompanied unknown individual to wig shop in Bremerton, Washington, exact date of purchase not known to NYO. FLEMING not aware when or where either photograph taken and did not accompany unknown individual to any wig shop.
