Investigation developed by Philadelphia determined that HAMPTON is a former Army paratrooper, currently drawing disability, walking with a noticeable limp, and allegedly was in "a VA hospital at Colorado Springs, Colorado" in July, 1971.

HAMPTON in Philadelphia indicated that artist conception of unsub has general similarity to HAMPTON.

Denver inquiry at Colorado Springs, Colorado private hospitals as well as VA hospitals at Denver and Fort Lyon, Colorado, located no information identifiable with HAMPTON until recontact by Philadelphia with relatives resulted in Philadelphia teletype to Phoenix of 5/15/72.

Phoenix requested to check records of VA Hospital, Tucson, Arizona, and establish HAMPTON's incarceration there on 11/24/71 in order that this matter may be logically resolved.
