Discreet inquiries, during June 1972, with Sergeant [REDACTED] and other members of [REDACTED] Richmond Police Department, failed to develop any indication of anything unusual in SCHMIDLIN's personality, routine, or activities, which might suggest him as a suspect in captioned matter.

---

On June 21, 1972, [REDACTED], Richmond Credit Bureau, furnished the following information regarding SCHMIDLIN:

---

He had been in file since September 1969, the last inquiry having been made in January 1972, when SCHMIDLIN applied for an American Express Credit Card. SCHMIDLIN's address and employment were the same indicated above. His Social Security Account Number was shown as 048-26-2331. SCHMIDLIN claimed to have been divorced from [REDACTED] since August 1970. A loan account in the initial amount of $400.00 was shown for him with the Richmond Employees Credit Union, since March 1970. Pay- ments have been made on the loan with payroll deductions in the amount of $36.00 a month since that date.

---

SCHMIDLIN was shown to maintain two savings accounts, both at the Mechanic's Bank, Mira Vista Branch, Richmond. One account was listed as a "low 2" ($10.00 - $50.00) and the second account as a "high 1" ($9.00 or less).

---

All payments were shown to be as agreed or better. There was no derogatory information regarding SCHMIDLIN in the file.
