On this date, Lt. LARRY ERICKSON, [redacted] (NA), Spokane County Sheriff's Office, Spokane, reported as follows:
He has a [redacted] who apparently has been playing around with one [redacted] more than [redacted] would like his wife to know. [redacted] told Lt. ERICKSON that [redacted] related to him that [redacted] one TOM COLLINS was murdered in Portland in late March, 1973 along with 2 or 3 others, presumably at the same time or in the same incident. [redacted] told [redacted] that a suspect in the killing(s) is one [redacted] (LNU) who owns [redacted] [redacted] in [guess: Sakemyx0xxx] Corvalis, Oreg. and has just bought [redacted] in Salem, Oreg. The killing(s) allegedly resulted from a [redacted] allegedly mentioned the money was in some way suspected of being connected to "D.B.COOPER" and the highjacking - possibly part of the extortion loot, or that was the inference. [redacted] is a pilot.
---
[redacted] indicated to [redacted] she is afraid she will be killed too for what she knows and frightened [redacted] by inferring that her associates might be in trouble also.
---
Lt. ERICKSON sent a teletype to the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office for more information and was contacted this date by Sgt. [redacted] of that department who said that TOM COLLINS was found dead but they didn't think is was a homocide. Sgt. [redacted] was somewhat concerned at the allegation of [redacted].
