Canton who [REDACTED] [REDACTED] He stated through [REDACTED] he became acquainted with RICHARD EUGENE OBRINGER, aka. Dick Obringer, Dick Oby, an experienced parachutist and former member of the 82nd Airborne Army Paratroop group. [REDACTED] characterized OBRINGER as a skillful paratrooper; however, somewhat of a loner.

[REDACTED] advised that subsequent to NORJAK, he observed a composite of "D.B. COOPER" and immediately felt it was an excellent likeness of OBRINGER.

[REDACTED] further related during September-October, 1972, he received a phone call from OBRINGER who informed he was visiting [REDACTED] at Canton. [REDACTED] stated he indicated to OBRINGER that he was surprised he (OBRINGER) had not been caught yet. According to [REDACTED] OBRINGER became somewhat upset and informed he did not wish to discuss the matter on the phone, but would come to [REDACTED].

[REDACTED] stated that later that same day, OBRINGER and his wife, BEVERLY, arrived at his home and remained for a few hours. [REDACTED] pointed out during his conversations with OBRINGER, OBRINGER did not specifically admit involvement in instant matter, but made off-hand comments such as "I missed the 'DZ' (drop zone) by eight miles". [REDACTED] further stated that OBRINGER had in his possession sunglasses similar to those depicted in composite drawing of "D.B. COOPER".

[REDACTED] stated that although he had a strong feeling that "D.B. COOPER" is, in fact, OBRINGER, he was afraid to contact the FBI as he and OBRINGER are good friends.

[REDACTED] further noted that OBRINGER resided in Canton until 1966, at which time he moved to Nevada. [REDACTED] stated he would attempt to ascertain OBRINGER's current address. He noted, however, that OBRINGER allegedly owns an "air strip" near Las Vegas.

On 3/29/73, [REDACTED] informed OBRINGER's last known address is PO Box 367, Henderson, Nevada, phone number
