Re: Suspect EDWIN GEORGE "MACK" COOPER

Re Sacramento letter to Portland, 4/5/74.

Investigation at Portland, Oregon, identified suspect COOPER as resident of 1327 SE 48th Avenue, Portland, SSAN 700-07-7812. He is currently employed as appraiser for Multnomah County, and is business agent for the county employees' union. He has no record with either Portland Police Bureau or Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, and Portland indices were negative concerning him.

After numerous efforts to locate OTTO HOUDEK at 3049 E. Burnside were negative, neighbors advised he had moved away. HOUDEK was located at his current residence, 2934 SE Morrison Street, Apt. 1, on 6/12/74. HOUDEK advised he is well acquainted with COOPER and saw him as recently as three weeks ago. He viewed artist's conception of Unsub in this matter and stated there is no resemblance to COOPER. He pointed out that COOPER has a very large, prominent nose, so much so that his close friends call him "Hose Nose," and that COOPER is about 5'10" tall, weigh[t]s over 200 pounds, has long, stringy, graying light brown hair, brown eyes, medium complexion.

In view of above, no further investigation being conducted regarding EDWIN GEORGE COOPER.
