been camping in the desert in the Palm Springs area it did not strike her as being unusual. She advised they were at this location for approximately a one hour period of time during which time he never left her sight. [redacted b6 b7C] advised that the hour was spent walking around the area and looking at rock formations and oasis.

She stated that he never made any mention of money being buried in that area nor did he do any digging while there. She advised that there were several other people in the area, appearing to be campers during the time they were at this location. [redacted] noted that STAUDT had indicated that he had been to that spot previously with [redacted]. She stated that it was obvious that he knew his way around the area.

[redacted b6 b7C] advised that during June they were in the desert approximately a week during which time they visited Palm Springs and the Sultan Sea State Park. She stated she was unable to fix the exact time; however, during this week a big sand storm came up which would be remembered by any resident in the area as far as setting a specific time.

[redacted] advised that she does not believe STAUDT to be the hijacker inasmuch as he would have gotten the money and spent it even if the money was "hot".

She stated that during some of the time that she was living and traveling with STAUDT they were without funds to the extent that she had to hock some of her jewelry in order to live. [redacted b6 b7C] noted that STAUDT has a history of making statements such as this, none of which have proved true.
