Re Seattle letter to Portland, 12/30/74.

Contact with Detective [REDACTED] Portland Police Bureau (PPB), Portland, Oregon, on 1/21/75, disclosed that one RICHARD D. JONES, 2058 NW Kearney Street, Portland, Oregon, a retired deputy sheriff from Coos County, Oregon, reported that [REDACTED] Doctors ILLGE & DAHL, Medical Arts Building, 1020 SW Taylor Street, believed [REDACTED] to resemble Unsub.

Contact with [REDACTED] (protect) determined that her suspect is one [REDACTED]. She advised that [REDACTED] was [REDACTED] years old in 1963, and listed his occupation as [REDACTED] and his residence at that time as [REDACTED]. She described him as 6' tall, 180 pounds, husky build, short brown hair, blue eyes, [REDACTED]. He has [REDACTED]. Her principal reason for suspecting him is his reluctance to furnish any information about himself such as current residence and employment and because he always pays his bill in cash with $10 bills. She agreed to notify the Portland Office on the occasion of [REDACTED].

On [REDACTED] 75, [REDACTED] advised that [REDACTED]. A discreet surveillance was established and Agents observed [REDACTED] leaving [REDACTED]. Two Agents observed him closely and both agreed he does not fit the description of Unsub. It was noted [REDACTED] has sandy brown wavy hair, blue eyes, ruddy smooth complexion, husky, muscular build. He stands at least 6'2" tall and appears to weigh at least [REDACTED] 220 pounds. He appears to be in his early [REDACTED].

In view of the above disparity between description of Unsub and [REDACTED] no further investigation concerning the latter will be conducted.
