Re Kansas City letter to Seattle 11/4/75.
Extensive review of records at Louisiana State Peni- tentiary, Angola, Louisiana, has failed to reveal the inmate known as "SLICK." Angola does not maintain a nickname file.
Information regarding Kansas City letter has been brought to the attention of security personnel at Angola with negative results to date. In particular, Associate Warden for Custody R. H. BUTLER, twenty years at Angola, and Colonel ROBERT BRYAN, Chief Security Officer, twenty-two years at Angola, have been attempting to identify "SLICK." They state that at no time in their memory has there ever been a karate champion at Angola. Inmates are not knowingly allowed to practice karate, and no championship matches have ever been held.
Sergeant [redacted] Louisiana State Penitentiary, has, as time permits, been reviewing admits for 1966 to attempt to identify "SLICK" by tattoos as described by [redacted]
Seattle will be advised if "SLICK" is identified.
