Re New Orleans airtel to Seattle, 9/28/76.

For the information of Seattle, [REDACTED], identified in referenced communication as source of information concerning subject "Slick," departed Baton Rouge, La., soon after being interviewed on 8/10/76, and whereabouts were not known until 12/16/76, at which time he called SA EARL R. PETERSEN at his residence in Baton Rouge from [REDACTED] Mississippi, inquiring as to the status of the investigation concerning 'Slick.' [REDACTED] continued to state that he did not believe that individual identified in photograph to him as VERNUCE ALBERT HOFFKE was identical with "Slick." He stated he would be glad to examine files of photographs of [REDACTED] as maintained by the Louisiana State Police in an effort to positively identify the individual "Slick" if possible. This would entail examination of approximately 10,000 photographs.

[REDACTED] advised he would appreciate being paid expenses should he be requested to make the above examination. He further stated he travels almost continuously but he could be reached through [REDACTED] Mississippi.
