On July 30, 1976, [REDACTED] was interviewed at [REDACTED], Seattle, Washington, by SA CLARK S. SMITH on an ITSP matter.

[REDACTED] advised he is a friend of ED BYTHEWAY, an Indian from Puyallup, Washington, who has a reputation of being a "bad guy" in that he beats people up and commits crimes of a vicious nature. According to [REDACTED] BYTHEWAY is serving a life sentence at Walla Walla Penitentiary and told him a former cell mate of his was "D. B. COOPER." BYTHEWAY claimed this man was a Canadian and that a man named [REDACTED] who also served time in Walla Walla Penitentiary and [REDACTED] [REDACTED] which was docked in Oregon and also Seattle, Washington, had washed the "D. B. COOPER" loot. [REDACTED] stated that this man [REDACTED] works on a fish- ing tender in Alaska and according to ED BYTHEWAY [REDACTED] is supposed to be a white man, approximately 40 years of age.

[REDACTED] stated the only reason he was furnishing this information was that he understood there was a reward out for any information leading to the identification and apprehension of "D. B. COOPER".
