RE: SUB 845 - BILLY JEWEL SPARKS
---
For the information of St. Louis, SPARKS is being considered a suspect in this matter as he resembles the artist's composite of unsub and because just prior to NORJAK, he became involved in the theft of some U. S. mail from the U. S. Post Office in Fairbanks, Alaska. Up to that time, SPARKS did not have any criminal history and because of his arrest, he became despondent and, in addition, needed a great deal of money in his defense in the upcoming trial. SPARKS was found guilty and began serving his sentence in October, 1973, and was released in May of 1975.
