WFO 164-169

Investigation by WFO determined that there is no Melwood Hospital in WDC. There is, however, an institution in Olney, Md., known as Melwood Farm. This is a private alcoholic treatment facility and most likely identical to the Melwood Hospital referred to by TAVE COFFELT.

The Los Angeles Division has requested that in order to eliminate COFFELT as a suspect, appropriate investigation be conducted at Melwood Farm to definitely establish whereabouts of COFFELT during the pertinent period, specifically 11/24/71.
