SA THOMAS J. MANNING

NORJAK

On 4/2/76 Sgt. ED LEAF, WSP, Olympia, Washington telephonically contacted writer at Longview RA. Sgt. LEAF was formerly in charge of Kelso, Wn. WSP detachment and during that tenure was familiarized with NORJAK details and full description of subject and has, on numerous occasions, viewed the photograph (composite) of subject.

LEAF advised that on 4/1/76 about 1 PM he was travelling on old 99 near Sea Tac airport in his personal vehicle. He observed an individual behind him driving a light brown Granada Ford or Mercury Monarch who obviously was listening to the radio and unlike individ- uals his age was playing the tune with his hands. This individual was driving behind Sgt. LEAF and thus LEAF stated he was able to get the Washington license by looking in the mirror of his car. It was either IHF 347 or IHF 374. LEAF advised that the individual driving this vehicle bore an extremely close resemblance to the NORJAK subject's composite drawing. He stated that this individual turned off old 99 going toward Auburn or interstate 5 at Federal Way.
