RE: COMPLAINTS DURING SEARCH NEAR MERWIN DAM

On Monday, 7/17/72, SA THOMAS J. MANNING advised that he had received an inquiry from [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Washington, concerning the damage to his driveway located near the first bivouac site when heavy Army trucks caused deep ruts in the roadway.

A review of Seattle records concerning the search disclosed that an original complaint was made by [REDACTED] 3/26/72, which was immediately turned over to Army authorities and on 3/27/72, [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] Ft. Lewis, Washington, who were at that time at the Command Post at Merwin Dam, were apprised of this complaint.

SA MANNING requested that Army authorities be contacted to obtain some relief for [REDACTED] who plans to sell his property and would like the damage repaired.

On 7/17/72 SA [REDACTED] was requested to contact Army authorities and later on the same date, he advised he left an appropriate message with the office of [REDACTED] as well as [REDACTED] with the request that they directly contact [REDACTED] at telephone [REDACTED] or [REDACTED] the latter number being the telephone of [REDACTED]
