On 1/26/73, [REDACTED] was interviewed by SA [REDACTED] and he advised SA [REDACTED] that he retired from the Air Force in [REDACTED] and for about ten years prior to his retirement, he had known an individual in the Air Force by the name of [REDACTED] who was last known to be a [REDACTED] with [REDACTED] JAMES CONNALLY AIR FORCE BASE, Wayco, Texas." He described [REDACTED] as a person who would now be approximately 50 years of age, 5'8", 170 lbs., bald-headed, and as originally being from California. He stated he last saw [REDACTED] in 1963 or 1964 when [REDACTED] had contacted him and told him that he was [REDACTED] at March Air Force Base, Riverside, Calif.

---

[REDACTED] stated that he knew [REDACTED] very well while they were in the Air Force together, and he knew that [REDACTED] had learned to jump from airplanes by studying a book and practicing by jumping off of his bunk, and he had then taught himself how to pack a parachute from a book. He said [REDACTED] had told him that he was formerly a [REDACTED] in the Air Force and had to take a [REDACTED] rating to remain in the Air Force, and that he had been a pilot in the [REDACTED] prior to the time he had been reduced in rank. He said at the time that [REDACTED] had told him he was [REDACTED] at March Air Force Base, that [REDACTED] had also told him that he had recently retired from the Air Force with the rank of [REDACTED] and that he had been given a [REDACTED] [REDACTED]

---

[REDACTED] stated [REDACTED] is the type of person who would expound at length on the possibilities of such things as "robbing Ft. Knox of its gold" or "how to make a perfect counterfeit bill." He said he had never known [REDACTED] to be involved in any such scheme which he had heard him discuss, but the more he had read and thought about the activities of the man who hijacked the airplane in Washington State, the more he thought that this was the type of scheme which [REDACTED] could have pulled off. He advised he has not seen or heard
