Per referenced telephone call to Seattle on 10/2/73, it was ascertained that investigation had revealed both parachutes presumably utilized by the highjacker, were all white in color. It was also ascertained that parachutes with orange and white panels are a type used in military survival operations and have previously been brought to the attention of the Seattle Division.

Inasmuch as the portions of the parachute previously submitted by [REDACTED] had white and orange panels and there- fore does not match the description of the parachutes, utilized by the unknown subject in this matter, no further investigation is being conducted by the Los Angeles Division, and that por- tion of the parachute furnished by [REDACTED] will be returned to him.
