Enclosed herewith via airmail Special Delivery is one pair of man's trousers. These were located on 11/26/76 near Amboy, Washington. The discovery was made by a local rancher, who first discovered them hanging in a tree, Douglas Fir, about 25 feet above the ground. He removed them and examined the pockets, but did not find any- thing in the pockets. He placed the trousers on a nearby bush where they remained until recovered this date.
It is noted that the location of the trousers was located in a primary search area in this matter.
It is also noted that the trousers have what appear to be a dry cleaner's tag, which separated, but both pieces are being submitted, one attached to the pants and the small piece in the enclosed envelope.
It is requested that the Laboratory examine these trousers and determine the following:
The contents of the material and what the true color was.
Any identifying data on the cleaner's tag.
Determine how any body stains.
Determine if possible the waist size and the length of the in-seam.
Will submit any other examinations relevant to this investigation.
