ReCOlet to SE, 8/2/77, relative to investigation to identify [REDACTED] in records of U. S. Senator STROM THURMOND's Office, Aiken, S. C.

Recontact with [REDACTED] U. S. Senator J. STROM THURMOND's Office, Aiken, S. C., on 9/29/77, and 10/13/77, determined on the latter date that she was unable to locate any record pertaining to [REDACTED] [REDACTED] in the files of Senator THURMOND presently available to her.

[REDACTED] noted that the files maintained at her office are not indexed, and that any further examination of letters to Senator THURMOND during 1973, would necessitate going through a number of storage boxes, and would entail a number of days work with no assurance a particular letter could be found.

In view of the above, and unless specifically directed by Seattle, no further investigation is being conducted to locate information pertaining to [REDACTED] in Senator THURMOND's files.
