The following investigation was conducted by SA [REDACTED]

AT BOISE, IDAHO

On July 31, 1978, [REDACTED] Boise (temporary address) voluntarily appeared at the Boise Resident Agency after he learned from his mother the Federal Bureau of Investigation was interested in talking to him. He said he was in Boise visiting his family for a week, after which he will travel to Seattle to work there. He has no specific address or job in Seattle as of this date.

He advised that he had lived in Stanley, Idaho, in a mountain cabin during the past winter and traveled to Seattle in early June, 1978. He stated that he is a creative writer and artist and during the past winter he spent his time painting for a living. He formerly was associated with the "North Coast Times" in Eagle, Oregon, which has folded.

[REDACTED] said that he has always been intrigued by this matter and considered it to be a matter suitable as the basis of a novel. He was always interested in why the individual hijacked the plane and how he could be successful.

[REDACTED] said that in 1974, he contacted a man named [REDACTED] (no address) in Portland, Oregon, because while he considers himself to be a creative writer he is more of a reporter than a novelist. [REDACTED] is a novelist. He discovered that [REDACTED] had a [REDACTED] therefore, he, [REDACTED] backed out of the deal with [REDACTED] to write a novel.

[REDACTED] said he has no "inside" story regarding the hijacking and was merely interested in the matter from a writer's point of view.
