Despite numerous assurances of confidentiality, [REDACTED] would provide no further information regarding [REDACTED] unless Agent would assure them that any investigation would be conducted as they directed. They were told that they could not direct course of any subsequent investigation, at which point they continued to make various demands. On 1/3/92, this office received a telephone call from an unknown individual who wished to provide additional information on [REDACTED] was described as a former paratrooper, who lived for some period of time in Spokane, Wash. [REDACTED] was supposedly stationed overseas during the time of the D. B. COOPER incident; however, also during this time his [REDACTED] passed away, and he returned to the United States, very distraught. Since the D. B. COOPER incident, [REDACTED] has always acted strange around the anniversary date of the incident, and would never discuss the case when anyone would ask him about it.
