requested JAMES FUGATE [REDACTED] to care for their pet cat. He recalls that upon their return the evening of 11/25/71, [REDACTED] had visited at the [REDACTED] residence. He could not specifically state that JAMES FUGATE was home at that time. On the same date, [REDACTED] [REDACTED] was contacted and advised she recalls having been in Sacramento with [REDACTED] for three days and returning on the evening of 11/25/71, during which time the [REDACTED] had agreed to take care of their cat. She stated she could not specifically recall whether she had observed JAMES FUGATE upon their return, but added that as close as she is to [REDACTED] she feels certain she would have been told by [REDACTED] if either would have been on any extended trip over the holidays. She also recalled that [REDACTED] had spoken of a desire to go to the Portland area where they used to live, during the Thanks- giving holidays, however, was somewhat disappointed when they were unable to do so.

On 11/30/72, [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Mc Culloch International Airlines, 2735 East Spring Street, Long Beach, California, advised that records of this company indicated JAMES RAY FUGATE, Director of Marketing, submitted an expense account on 12/7/71 covering the period of 11/16/71 to 1/30/72. This account indicated that FUGATE had departed Long Beach, California, on 11/25/71, for Detroit, Michigan. [REDACTED] was unable to supply any supporting documents advising the flight to Chicago was on an aircraft owned by Mc Culloch Airlines and from Chicago to Detroit was via a scheduled airline. She stated passengers manifests are only preserved for a six month period and was unable to obtain a copy for their flight 11/25/71. She stated that FUGATE would have stayed in the Hilton Inn in Detroit, Michigan, on the night of 11/25/71. Attached is a Xerox copy of the expense account of FUGATE as follows:
