Industrialist Palevsky Weds Lynda Edelstein

Industrialist Max Palevsky, a former director and chairman of the executive committee of Xerox Corp., and Miss Lynda Edelstein, daughter of William Edelstein, a former Los Angeles manufacturer, and Mrs. Edelstein, were married Friday in the Leo Baeck Temple in West Los Angeles.

The ceremony performed by Rabbi Leonard Beerman was witnessed by members of the families and was followed by a brunch at Hotel Bel-Air.

Palevsky was cochair-man of McGovern's national finance committee and a big contributor to McGovern's campaign.

Palevsky is the publisher of LA, a weekly newspaper started in July of 1972 and he is chairman of the board of Rolling Stone, a bimonthly rock music-oriented newspaper.

He is the father of two children, Nicholas, 16, and Madeleine, 11, by his first marriage to the former Joan Yates. This marriage ended in divorce in 1969. His second marriage to the former Sara Jane Brown ended in divorce in 1971. There were no children.

The bride was graduated from UCLA and has a master's degree from USC. She is an adviser with the Los Angeles City Schools.

The couple will take a deferred wedding trip to Europe and Morocco in December. The couple will live in Palevsky's home in Bel-Air.
