Trial ordered in NWA hijack suit Associated Press

Northwest Airlines' suit to recover $200,000 taken by a hijacker last year on Thanksgiving Eve has been ordered to trial by Hennepin County District Court Judge Irving C. Iverson.

Northwest is suing Globe Indemnity company under the "blanket crime policy" it has with Globe, a Northwest spokesman said. Globe Indemnity refused to comment.

Judge Iverson ordered a trial in the suit Friday when he denied a motion by Globe for a summary judgment against Northwest. No trial date has been set.

The hijacker, identified from passenger lists only as D. B. Cooper, parachuted from the Northwest jet between Seattle, Wash., and Reno, Nev., and has not yet been found.
