Parachute isn't skyjacker's, FBI says

The FBI says it has ruled out any connection between a partly buried parachute found in a wooded area of southwest Washington and the 8-year-old disappearance of skyjacker D.B. Cooper. The parachute was found by a logger and turned over to officials Monday, after a friend told the logger the chute may be a clue to the nation's only unsolved skyjacking. But Bill Williams, an FBI spokesman in Portland, Ore., said, "We have determined after examining the chute that it is not related to the case at all . . ."
