Dear Mr. Tosaw:

On February 10, 1980, approximately 290 $20 bills were located in the sand of the Columbia River. These bills were in packets, and in numerical sequence (by serial number), indicating they were in the same condition at the same time the money was given out. The condition of the money was very deteriorated, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Laboratory could not determine exactly the number of bills contained in the currency submitted. Serial numbers were obtained only from the top portion of each bundle located. The serial numbers of the bills located were as follows:

Serial Number Series Year

G 03072381 B 1969 L 10919321 A 1969 L 55066857 A 1969 L 32987392 A 1969 L 30706882 B 1963 A I 02442844 A 1969 K 03654750 A 1969 I 02591811 A 1969 J 20209868 A 1963 A L 55376548 B 1963 A L 20301456 A 1969 L 51236377 B 1963 A D 27112759 A 1969
