On 12/4/71, Supervisor PRICE called from the Bureau.

He referred to a UPI story to the effect that three different women had reported seeing or hearing a light plane near McClellan Air Field, Woodland, Washington, on the night of the hijacking.

He said Asst. Director BATES wanted to know what we were doing to resolve this if it had not already been resolved. He said we should send a teletype over the weekend.

After talking to SA MANNING, it was established that it had been resolved and that the [REDACTED] [REDACTED], said no plane had actually landed that night.

A teletype was sent to the Bureau on 12/4/71.
