A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

Re: Sub DOUGLAS GIBSON BURNS Sub No. 199
Enclosed for Portland and San Francisco is one copy of Anchorage's letter to Seattle, May 22, 1973, and one copy of an FD 302 reflecting the interview of [REDACTED] [REDACTED] at Anchorage, Alaska.
For the information of the Identification Divi- sion, BURNS has been suggested as a suspect by source, [REDACTED] of Anchorage, Alaska. [REDACTED] ad- vised he became acquainted with BURNS, [REDACTED] in Anchorage, Alaska. During that time, BURNS stated he was going to plan and carry off a spectacular criminal feat. [REDACTED] advised that BURNS even elaborated that when he accomplished this feat, he would be known by the first initials of his first and middle name and that he intended to use the surname of [REDACTED] as a clue to [REDACTED] that BURNS had in fact accomplished what he had planned. BURNS was released from the Anchorage State Jail on May 17, 1971, and immediately left Alaska to return to Portland, Oregon.
