Re memo of SA RONALD N. NICHOLS, 6/11/73.

[REDACTED] (NMI) [REDACTED] Auburn, Washington, was located and interviewed at his residence on 7/6/73. At that time [REDACTED] advised that he has no information whatsoever relative to the possible identity of the unknown subject. He stated that he does not know anyone whose initials are D. B., he does not know anyone named COOPER, and was in general unable to furnish any information at all relative to this investigation.

[REDACTED] was asked whether he had ever discussed possible solutions to instant case. He stated that he read about instant hijacking in newspaper and knows absolutely nothing whatsoever about it except what has been published in the daily newspapers. He said, however, that he guessed he has discussed the possible solutions just like anyone else, but that any discussion he ever had relative to this case for the solution of this case was merely speculation.

He said he has no recollection of having discussed this case at the Red Rooster Tavern in Auburn, Washington, on 8/3/72, but it is altogether possible that he might have done so.

He again stated, however, that if he did discuss this case at that Tavern or any other Tavern he was merely talking and speculating and doing so without any facts whatsoever.
