A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

RE: ROGER LEE THARALDSON
Re memo of SA MANNING dated April 28, 1975.
At Olympia, Washington
---
On May 12, 1975, [REDACTED] Washington State Board of Prison Terms and Paroles, made available the file on ROGER LEE THARALDSON, their number 220653, FBI # 158423 F. The file contains a photo taken at the Washington Correction Center dated September 29, 1972. It disclosed that he was paroled on April 9, 1971, after having been committed out of Kitsap County on Grand Larceny charges.
He was paroled to Cowlitz County and his parole officer was CLARE MURRAY, whose report dated November 23, 1971, showed subject married to [REDACTED], residing at 3201 Silverlake Road, near Castlerock. He was service manager, Cascade Motors, Longview, and his prognosis by MURRAY was favorable. MURRAY even recommended the intensity of supervision be reduced from maximum to medium in view of his progress.
On April 13, 1972, MURRAY filed a violation report showing THARALDSON had quit his job with Cascade Motors in February, 1972, and started his own business of buying used cars out of Portland, Oregon. He also altered odometer readings and was selling these vehicles without a license. As a result, his parole was suspended on April 13, 1972. He was subsequently located and arrested at Rodhead, [guess: Wisconsin], on September 1, 1972, and returned to Kelso.
As of May 1, 1975, THARALDSON was again missing and there is correspondence in his file between the United States Attorney's Office and authorities at Monroe.

Inasmuch as it is the purpose of this investigation to determine if THARALDSON could possibly be the subject of this case, it is suggested that officials at Cascade Motors be contacted since it appears that he was employed by that company during the pertinent period of the highjack (November 24, 1971).
