A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

UNSUB; SOURCE PSYCHIC IN MOBILE #655
---
Re Mobile's airtel to Seattle, dated 7/10/73.
A review of the tape recording revealed the following discrepancies between the psychic's statements and the actual NORJAK facts:
1. She stated Unsub had to jump earlier than he wanted because of darkness which occurred at approximately 4:00 p.m. Unsub hijacked the Northwest Orient Airlines' plane at approximately 3:00 p.m., on 11/24/71. He left the plane at approximately 8:11 p.m., the same day.
2. She stated he was presently hanging from a tree located near Bates and the plane was off course. The plane was tracked by Air Force radar during its entire flight and never came near Bates, Oregon. The only other Bates in the United States that is listed in the U. S. Postal Guide is in Arkansas. The flight paths closest point to Bates, Oregon, was 240 miles.

3. She stated she saw an orange parachute canopy. Unsubs canopy was white.
4. Finally, she observed that the money was in a small suitcase or attache case and, in fact, the money was in a bag that Unsub fashioned and tied to his waist using shroud lines and a parachute canopy.

In view of the above, no further investigation will be conducted concerning this matter by the Seattle Division.

As it may become necessary to disprove other stories purported to furnish accurate details of the Norjak hijacking, Mobile is requested not to make the above information available to anyone outside the Bureau.
