Synopsis: Lucinda Reyes interviewed at Yerington, Nevada.

Enclosures: For Seattle, the original and one copy of an FD 302 reflecting the interview of Lucinda Reyes at Yerington, Nevada. Also enclosed are the notes from this interview. For Salt Lake City, two copies of this FD 302 for background information, and for Las Vegas, one copy of this FD 302.

Details: Following the interview of Lucinda Reyes, she provided to the interviewing agents a handgun which had been left with her by Frank Painter during his visit in November 1971. It was initially reported that no one had handled this handgun and that Painters fingerprints would still be on it. During the interview, Reyes stated that both she and her husband had handled the gun as well as a local gunsmith who examined it and reported that the gun was unsafe to fire. The handgun will be retained as evidence at the Reno Resident Agency however its value for latent fingerprints is minimal.
