The following investigation was conducted by SA [REDACTED]

AT [REDACTED] MONTANA

After several unsuccessful attempts, [REDACTED] was located at his residence, [REDACTED] on February 15, 1973.

On interview, [REDACTED] stated that he and an un- identified friend of his were discussing the hijacking in- volving D. B. COOPER and were trying to determine who, of all their acquaintances, would be most logical to consider as being suspect in having committed the hijacking. After dis- cussing the situation for some time, [REDACTED] and his friend decided that an individual by the name of [REDACTED] (phone- X tic) would be the most logical individual. The reason they considered [REDACTED] as being a prime suspect is due to the fact that he was formerly a mercenary soldier in an unknown location, was a former [REDACTED] in Vietnam, and had done a substantial amount of propelling. [REDACTED] addi- tionally, [REDACTED]

---

In addition to the above, [REDACTED] and his friend believed that [REDACTED] would be a logical suspect due to the fact that he would simply enjoy participating in an activity of this nature. He is not particularly interested in the money, but being of the personality that he is, would enjoy just taking on the challenge of successfully effecting a hi- jacking.

[REDACTED] [guess: just] feels that a hijacking is the type of thing that [REDACTED] would enjoy doing.

[REDACTED] on interview, actually knew very little about [REDACTED] He described him as follows:

---

[partially illegible handwriting] [REDACTED] N - 455 / b7C 16 4 - 81- [illegible] DB Cooper-10961

---

Race White Sex Male Age Late 30s Height Approximately 6' Hair Red

The last time [REDACTED] he had a full beard.

---

[REDACTED] reportedly has not personally seen [REDACTED] for approximately six years. [REDACTED] also heard, although he cannot recall who told him, that [REDACTED] was in the Seattle, Washington, area at the time of the hijacking. He was last known by [REDACTED] to be residing in the [REDACTED] Montana, area and this information came to [REDACTED] approximately one month ago.

---

On February 15, 1973, [REDACTED] [REDACTED] all of [REDACTED] [REDACTED] were interviewed concerning [REDACTED]. None of these individuals knew [REDACTED] nor is the name in any way familiar to them. All three individuals stated that in the event [REDACTED] did any substantial amount of flying at all within the [REDACTED] area, they would know this individual.

---

Later in the day on February 15, 1973, [REDACTED] telephonically contacted the [REDACTED] Resident Agency at which time he advised that the name of the individual mentioned above, should in effect, be [REDACTED] rather than [REDACTED]
