[REDACTED] of Glen Canyon City, Utah, is well known to Salt Lake City Division and has been interviewed on numerous occasions by different Special Agents assigned Salt Lake City Division concerning [REDACTED]
The [REDACTED] stemmed from complaints received from [REDACTED] Montana to join [REDACTED] at Glen Canyon City, Utah, and it was determined the [REDACTED] did so voluntarily and [REDACTED] were ever brought against [REDACTED]
[REDACTED] and other individuals filed homesteading claims on Bureau of Land Management property and were ordered to remove themselves from the land.

Kane County Attorney and Kane County Sheriff have been severely criticized in the press for not filing [REDACTED] resides in the Glen Canyon City area with [REDACTED] [REDACTED] has received much news and press coverage including National TV coverage and National publication and has "flaunted" law enforcement in Utah [REDACTED] [REDACTED] as well as being an embarrassment to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The LDS authorities have excommunicated [REDACTED] and prior to moving into the Utah area, resided in Montana with [REDACTED] [REDACTED]

It is noted that Phoenix Division was originator of a communication in the [REDACTED] case based on an anony- mous telephone call suggesting that [REDACTED] was residing with [REDACTED] in the Glen Canyon, Utah, area. This proved to be unfounded.

There appears to be nothing in the article concerning [REDACTED] which was an enclosure to referenced Phoenix airtel to Seattle to indicate that [REDACTED] is identical to D. B. COOPER. As with the anonymous caller suggesting that [REDACTED] was residing with [REDACTED] [REDACTED] Salt Lake City Division feels that the anonymous caller suggesting that [REDACTED] is identical with D. B. COOPER is an attempt to cause the FBI to "hassle" [REDACTED] and any

investigation conducted in this area would be considered harassment and in view of the wide range of publicity [REDACTED] receives from the news media, could prove embarrassing to the Bureau.
It is anticipated that prosecution in Arizona will be successful and if not Salt Lake City Division based on conversations with USA's office, will file [REDACTED] charges against [REDACTED] and three others.
In view of the above and unless advised to the contrary by Seattle Division, Salt Lake City Division will not conduct any investigation concerning [REDACTED] re D. B. COOPER.
