Dear [REDACTED]

I have today been advised by authorities in the Social Security Administration that the family should write a personal letter to [REDACTED]. This letter should be placed in a plain envelope with only his name and Social Security Number showing. This letter should then be placed in an envelope addressed to Commissioner Robert M. Ball, Social Security Administration, Baltimore, Maryland. Attention: [REDACTED]

I was further advised that they have reason to believe he has been employed within the last nine months and has used this number. However, as you know, this information is highly confidential and the exact [guess: place] of employment cannot be disclosed. Nevertheless, they will try and forward this letter to him.

I would appreciate your advising the [REDACTED] of this request and have them forward this letter to the address given above.

With kindest regards and best wishes, in which [guess: Joinis] me,

Sincerely,

[signature] Strom Thurmond
