What does the scan show?
A person reads every report. Corrections are made by hand, to the data — titles, dates, names, which pages belong together — never to the scans, and they can take a while to appear.

[REDACTED] Anderson, South Carolina [REDACTED]
Dear [REDACTED]
We are in receipt of correspondence from Congressman Butler Derrick concerning your [REDACTED] who has been a missing person since [REDACTED].
The Social Security Administration will not release information to law enforcement, however, there is a possibility that through the following procedure, information may be released directly to the family.
Write a letter to your [REDACTED] and put it in a sealed envelope with his full name and social security number. Also, write a letter to the Social Security Administration and seal in a separate envelope. Give your [REDACTED] complete name, date of birth and social security number. Advise them who you are and that you wish to contact your [REDACTED] and the reason you wish to contact him. Put both envelopes together in another envelope and give to the Social Security Administration. They will then make the determina= tion if the letter will be forwarded on to your [REDACTED]
In the meantime, while you are working through the Social Security Administration, it would be a great deal of help if you could advise us if your [REDACTED] was ever fingerprinted (for any reason), and if he served in any branch of the armed forces. Any additional information you can provide will be appreciated.
Sincerely,
J. J. HARVEY, Sheriff [Signature]
