Oregon, telephone [REDACTED] was interviewed in the Portland FBI Office, and he provided the following information:
[REDACTED] stated he is [REDACTED] for Pacific Power and Light Company, 920 SW Sixth Avenue, Portland, telephone 243-4796. On December 14, 1976, [REDACTED] was working in Saddle Dam Park, which is located at the lower end of Yale Reservoir in Clark County, Washington, and he found a piece of nylon cord, approximately twelve feet eight inches long, which he believes appears to be parachute line. [REDACTED] provided the cord to the interviewing Agent, and it was noted that the cord had a knot tied in one end, and both ends of the cord were frayed.
---
[REDACTED] stated the cord was hanging in a fence which is in a northerly direction from the restroom facility at Saddle Dam. The cord was not tied to the fence, but it was draped around the fence as though it had been blown there. [REDACTED] explained that the cord was located approximately 800 feet from the stairway, which is located near the restroom. He also drew a map for the interviewing Agent to show where the cord had been found. [REDACTED] did not know how long the cord had been on the fence and was unable to provide any additional information.
