political maneuvering he found himself in. In February, 1958 he and a companion robbed a home in Sacramento and threatened the occupants. For this he received a 5year to Life sentence in the State Prison in California for Robbery, 1st Degree, was paroled from there on May 27, 1960, taken back to West Virginia to satisfy a parole violation. CURRENT SITUATION: This 30 year old offender is serving his first Federal institutional sentence although he has served several prior State commitments and has been more or less constantly under confinement since 1949. He has been involved in several vicious robberies, has definitely indicated anti-social attitudes, shows little regard for his fellow man. He seems to be interested only in himself. While his mother feels that he is the victim of unfortunate circumstances and accumulative frustrations, it is more apparent that he has an aversion to work, feels that the world owes him a living. In all his escapades he has been armed, the victims have been seriously threat- ened and it is felt that [REDACTED] would not hesitate to harm people if they stood in his way. While serving the various State sentences [REDACTED] for the most part adjusted satis- factorily although he was involved in minor infractions of the regulations at times. He shows a history of escape, in 1951. [REDACTED] should be considered a Close custody risk, an individual who may have a difficult time settling down to the serving of his long sentence. He has no one who relies upon him for support and it will be many years before he is again released to society however based on his prior criminal activities he offers a rather dis- mal prognosis for a good future adjustment. His institutional adjustment will no doubt be routine with minor difficulties encountered at times. He has shown considerable migratory habits during the past years, has never settled in any locality long enough to establish bonafide residence and for all practical purposes he must be considered a transient.
