OPTIONAL FORM NO. 10 MAY 1962 EDITION GSA FPMR (41 CFR) 101-11.6 UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT Memorandum

TO : SAC, SEATTLE (164-81) DATE: 6/19/73

FROM : SPC STEVEN W. DOWNEY

SUBJECT: NORJAK

At 3:08 AM, I received a telephone call from Officer [REDACTED] of the SEATAC Police. He stated he was presently interviewing a LARRY MITCHELL WRIGHT, 303 South Jefferson, Aberdeen, Washington, (no phone, is the home of his mother CARRIE WRIGHT and will be visiting there for about 2 to 3 weeks.) WRIGHT had been talking to a waitress in a coffee shop at SEATAC stating he knew the identity of D.B. Cooper. The waitress phoned the SEATAC Police and officer [REDACTED] requested WRIGHT come to his office for an interview. [REDACTED] said WRIGHT was not drunk, and was at SEATAC waiting for a friend to arrive.

---

WRIGHT stated that while he was serving a sentence at the Shelton Correctional Center, he was acquainted with one ROGER THORSON (phonetic) from January to March 1970. WRIGHT said THORSON had talked to him about how he knew flying and navigation and had an old plane parked at SEATAC. WRIGHT stated THORSON said he was from the Kelso - Longview area and talked at length about raising $200,000 to invest in South America. WRIGHT believes THORSON was released about 30 days after himself (approximately April 1970). WRIGHT stated THORSON never mentioned anything about parachuts

---

WRIGHT said he had not come forward before now because he had moved to California after his release due to problems with his marriage. WRIGHT believes the picture of D.B. Cooper which is being shown on television is that of THORSON.

---

[REDACTED] said WRIGHT's statement would be in his office if an agent wished to see it.
