on a clear day. The map will give off radiation because it acts as an extension of the area and will take on the characteristics of the area just like a picture takes on the characteristics of that which it depicts."

Mr. JOHNSON then produced a booklet entitled "Dowsing for Treasurers and Minerals" by SAM WOLFE, 13451 Ector, La Purta, California. JOHNSON advised that this book was his source of information of "dowsing" and how one can go about locating people like D.B. COOPER and the missing $200,000.00.

It is to be noted that CARL W. JOHNSON made no mention of "Radiesthesia", use of a "pendulum", or "triangulation".

It is also noted that JOHNSON is an elderly retired white male, who is sincerely motivated but had probably achieved a fair degree of senility and was unable to speak in depth on the subject he professed to be proficient in, namely, "dowsing".

In view of the above, no further investigation is being conducted by the Phoenix Division unless advised to the contrary by Seattle.
