RE: SUSPECT FRANKLIN JOHN PAINTER, aka Nick Lewis [guess: printed as 'Nick Leuis']
[REDACTED] Law Clerk for U.S. District Judge ROBERT F. PECKHAM advised on 5/21/75 that he has a client who desires to remain anonymous but would be interested in receiving any rewards connected with the apprehension of COOPER.
His client claims that she was acquainted with a MARY PAINTER or NICHOLSON in Reno, Nevada, who died in 1974. According to this client, MARY PAINTER told her that her son, captioned suspect, looked very much like the composite that she had seen in the newspapers. The client had no other information than the fact that the suspect would be in his late 30s and he had dark hair and dark eyes and had Indian blood either through his maternal or paternal grandfather. This client also said that suspect had been a paratrooper in Germany but did not know the dates.
The client said that the suspect has a brother named JOE, who was born 6/26/37, SSAN 530-24-1952, who presently resides at 228 Mill, Apartment Number 7, Reno, Nevada, and works for the Post Office.
