On November 24, 1971, Northwest Airlines Flight 305 Portland, Oregon to Seattle, Washington was hijacked by a white male, mid-forties, 5'10" to 6'0", 170 to 180 pounds, olive complexion, Latin appearance, dark brown or black hair. On arrival in Seattle, the hijacker demanded and received $200,000 and parachutes and the aircraft departed Seattle headed in a southerly direction and the individual parachuted from the aircraft.

Extensive investigation since the incident in November, 1971 has failed to identify or locate the subject.

---

During January, 1977, [REDACTED] Attorney at Law, b6 San Jose, California, advised that during conduct of a bankruptcy b7C investigation, the name Jason Thomas Langseth came to his attention. He stated Langseth filed for bankruptcy in July, 1976, [REDACTED] He stated during his investigation, an individual named [REDACTED] [REDACTED] of Langseth, came to his office and advised that Langseth had funds in the Toronto Dominion Bank, Toronto, Canada. He stated [REDACTED] further advised that he believed that Langseth was one in the same of an individual who hijacked a Northwest Airlines Flight 305 in November, 1971, later known as D. B. Cooper.

---

[REDACTED] stated he confronted Langseth with this b6 allegation and Langseth denied any association with the b7C incident and stated that the FBI had previously exonerated him from the act.

---

[REDACTED] San Jose, California, was interviewed and confirmed information provided by [REDACTED] [REDACTED] and was confident in his own mind that Langseth bore a striking resemblance to the subject who hijacketed the aircraft.

He advised that he had been close friends with Langseth and Langseth indicated on several occasions that he was interested in committing the perfect crime. He further confirmed the information he had concerning banking at Toronto Dominion Bank, Toronto, Canada, and in fact, Langseth had received funds over the years which, if totaled, would have amounted to in excess of $200,000.

---

[REDACTED] stated he was aware of the fact that Langseth had been previously interviewed by the FBI, but he stated that photographs, the fact that Langseth was an expert paratrooper, and had done considerable night diving prior to the hijacking, led him to believe that Langseth was, in fact, identical to the hijacker.

---

It should be noted the Langseth was, in fact, inter- viewed by the FBI, Los Angeles, California, in February, 1972. Langseth at that time was described as a white male, 5'10" to 6'0", 165 pounds, medium build, hair black, eyes blue, born August 3, 1944, place of birth Borger, Texas, former paratrooper, U.S. Military.

---

Investigation conducted by the FBI and display of photograph to eye-witnesses at the incident could not identify Langseth as being identical to the subject in this matter. It should be noted, however, that investigation to confirm Langseth's presence during November, 1971, was unsuccessful.
